Sunday 21st March. Val Wodehouse celebrated her 90th birthday with a champagne drinks party, held at the lovely home of her neice.

Val is an amazing lady with a long and eventful life. A lifelong Fransiscan, she served with the ATS during the war, then became a physiotherapist, then a physcotherapist.

She was a committed member of the Osteoporosis Society of Cornwall, a talented amateur sculptress plus the dedicated Bridge player we all know! Her illustrious ancestors include the author PG Wodehouse.

The black and white picture [scroll down] was taken in the very early fifties when Val was in her early thirties. The other was taken at her birthday party this afternoon.

Val has had a very difficult few months, but has bravely fought, without complaint, to fully recover from the bad fall she had in the New Year. She is now driving again and back to leading a normal life. What an incredible lady. Happy Birthday Val
